About My Work
My interest in Global Urban History Project stems from the relevance of my work with general discourse it treats. I am currently working on a project titled A History of Street Hawking in Metropolitan Lagos, 1967-2017. This work aims to discuss the issue of migration of people from the hinterland to the port city of Lagos where they engage in street hawking to make a living and break the cycle of poverty. The work will discuss the growth of urban Lagos and the effects of urban development of the inhabitants of the State. Informality is also a subject of discuss in the work in which street hawkers engage in business on the go in order to make a living. Those who live on the fringes of the society mainly engage in the trade and the work will explain how such is implicated on entrepreneurship and micro enterprise.
My on going work to be published is "Gbongan and Odeomu in Ife-Modakeke Crisis: A Study in Indigenous Diplomacy". This discusses the issue of war in the city after the collapse of Oyo Empire.
