Meet Other Members

I am a PhD researcher at the European University Institute's Department of History, where I am in the process of writing my dissertation on squatting movements in British and Dutch urban centres in the latter half of the 20th century. My research helps to historicise these complex movements and draws upon insights from urban history to do so. The outlook of the Global Urban History Project ties in with the overall outlook of my research, and I look forward to engaging with the Project to better develop historical understandings of informal housing, alternatives to urban governance and of how spatial elements of cities can both incubate and hinder squatting movements.
